Not letting PC turn off crossplay is an insane decision, and one that I believe is partly to blame for the loss of 80% of the potential future revenue from anyone that bought this game on Steam. 80% of the players that might have bought DLC or such have left EA, maybe listen to the remaining 20% that are hanging on for dear life TRYING to explain what the problem is.
I don't even care that console gets an aim assist and recoil reduction. I have played both, and I understand from using a controller why those exist. HOWEVER. Why in Gods blessed name do they get a bloom reduction? Dice has given consolebots the power to win EVERY engagement at range because PC LITERALLY cannot compete at range.
I also put forth that consolebots get many more advantages rather than the ones EA will admit to. I'm sure anyone paying attention has realized that consolebots get lag advantage, which I think is caused by both a more streamlined connection to the EA servers and not having an anti-cheat running a secondary process on every input. I'm getting more and more sure they get a projectile guidance assist, so if they shoot a rocket it WILL hit so long as it's close enough, a bullet WILL hit so long as it's near enough, etc. Watching consolebot content you can see this almost clear as day. Lastly, I believe they get an explosive damage buff in vehicles. Have you ever noticed that some IFVs can shoot through 7 walls and still hit you on the other side? How they can shoot the front of an MBT while you're behind it, and still kill you in 3-4 hits? I believe that Dice has either purposefully given them a this buff, or the calculations for the explosion damage from a consolebot are done wrong for consolebots, causing this issue.
All of this could be avoided if EA would just let us turn off crossplay. It's not asking too much, it's not going to break everything, it's not going to lose them money.
But here we are anyways.
