DMRs should receive a TTK buff in BF6

DMRs should receive a TTK buff of some kind.

What I want to stress above all else, Is I believe the current state of the DMRs represent a hole in BF6s weapon sandbox. They are extremely situational and unfun to use for most of the games player base, and as of right now there are no semi-auto weapons that are even remotely competitive at close ranges (baring shotguns). I feel that is a shame. A semi-auto weapon is a distinct play-style and fantasy and I feel the current game does not serve it.

I believe I understand the general thought process behind giving all DMRs mediocre to terrible TTKs, you want to avoid a situation where they are too effective at every range. But I believe the current stats go too far and make all DMRs feel incredible situational and ineffective even in their particular niche.  Instead of DMRs feeling like solid generalists that can deal slow by consistent damage at any range, they often feel incredibly frustrating and handicapping. Many other weapons happily outclass the DMRs over most of the games playable ranges. Many ARs, LMGs, AND SMGS will kill faster and easier all the way out to 100 meters, and any sniper rifle will kill faster and easier from 100 out. This contrast is made even worse by weapons like the AK4D, M240, and even M277. While they all technically suffer from decreased accuracy, I believe in combat conditions the difference is negligible and all these options fill the exact same niche as the DRMs but better in every way.

400-500ms TTKs are just too slow for even basic functionality at close/mid ranges, especially when accounting for the comparatively extreme accuracy requirements of the DMRs. A single missed shot on moving or obscured target and suddenly a already mediocre TTK becomes abysmal.

I believe a base TTK of around 350 at extreme close ranges (0-20 meters?) would go a LONG way in making these weapons vastly more viable and accessible to the player population. I believe 350 is a reasonable middle ground where the DMRs should not feel overpowered, but also not a handicap. I understand with headshot ammo multipliers there might be some fear for too fast sub-200ms TTK, and in those cases I would honestly just advocate for removing those ammo options.

My idea of some relatively simple changes:
LMR and GRT: Give em a 34 damage bracket out to 15-20 meter range. Maybe lower the LMRs ROF a bit in that case
EMR: Lower recoil and bump its ROF to 300
SVD: Increase its recoil and bump its ROF to 320-350
SVK: Honestly you don't need to change anything, its fine at its niche generally

An idea for a more complicated 'Fix':
Maybe add a new ammo type for the DMRs that apply some effect to increase the close range TTK.
If you consider DMRs with a competitive close range TTK so intimidating then maybe you can but a points tax and downsides on it via a attachment. Maybe make it a tradeoff for actual damage fall off in return for better close range TTK.

I'm sure you guys have the numbers, but I suspect the DMRs are the least used weapon class by far, and excluding outliers like myself and other DRM addicts their performance is the worst in the game. I hope to actually see them on the battlefield in the future.

Thanks,

I have no idea, mate, what you're talking about. I have on all five DMRs 20+ lvls already. With 35-45 pkt grip, I may laserbeam players across half of the map. Without attachments, DMRs are useless. Headshot multipliers are useless when grips have become more important. Something changed today?! DMRs are crap at 75m engagements or less; beyond, I plough through masses of unaware players. I am shooting at enemies like they are nothing but ducks with GRT... spotting at the same time... snipers stand a low chance against me on the new map. DMRs are much more usable at close range in older BFs.
