Enhancing Battlefield 6's Revive System for Deeper Realism and Tactical Thrills

Hey Battlefield Team at DICE and Battlefield Studios,

First off, massive props on Battlefield 6—it's an absolute beast! The new drag-and-revive mechanic is a game-changer; those heart-pounding moments dragging a squadmate out of a collapsing building under fire feel straight out of a war epic. It amps up the teamwork and immersion in ways that make every match unforgettable. Loving how it ties into the Kinesthetic Combat System, rewarding quick thinking and squad synergy.

That said, I miss the classic crawl-to-safety vibe from older titles—it added that raw, desperate survival edge. What if we blended the best of both worlds with a hit-location twist to crank up the realism even more? Here's the pitch: When a player goes down, the downed state could depend on where they were critically hit.

- **Leg Wound (e.g., shots to the lower body):** The player retains limited mobility and can crawl a short distance (say, 10-15 meters) toward cover or a teammate. This keeps the agency in the downed player's hands, letting them self-position for a safer revive while still bleeding out on a timer. It'd encourage smart movement choices—like inching behind a vehicle or into a ditch—without making it too easy to cheese.

- **Arm/Upper Body Wound:** Here, the player is fully immobilized (arms out of commission for crawling), forcing a teammate to initiate a drag to relocate them before attempting the defib. This heightens the risk-reward: Do you drag into the open for a quick revive, or haul to safety first? It'd make Support class perks (faster drags, quicker revives) even more clutch, and add layers to medic roles.

This hybrid system would inject hyper-realistic wound simulation into the core loop, making every takedown feel unique and consequential. Imagine the stories: "I crawled through hellfire with shattered legs to reach my squad!" or "Had to drag my buddy out of a sniper's nest because his arms were toast." It fits perfectly with BF6's emphasis on dynamic environments and squad play—destructible terrain could even interact, like crawling through rubble or drags leaving blood trails for trackers.

Implementation-wise, it could tie into the existing hit detection (already tracking body parts for damage multipliers), with a simple visual cue (e.g., animation differences or HUD icons) to signal the wound type. Balance it with adjustable bleed timers or class-specific bonuses to keep it fair across modes. This isn't just a tweak; it's an evolution that could set BF6 apart as the pinnacle of tactical FPS realism, drawing in sim enthusiasts while keeping the action explosive.

I'd love to see this in a future season or patch—maybe test it in a limited-time mode? What do you think? Eager for your thoughts, and keep crushing it!

Best,
