Re: The Portal XP Nerf and the Betrayal of "Full Progression" - Targeted Solutions

Game was heavily marketed with Portal and a PVE experience.

Haven't been able to create a portal server since release 'GLOBAL GAME QUOTE EXCEEDED'.

By the time you fix the portal issue, you have completely removed all pve xp.

False advertising at its best.

scum.

    Hi DICE/EA,
Portal's current XP limitations unfairly punish players who create normal, balanced servers. By preventing regular progression, it kills the motivation to play and complete missions on these servers. This causes good, community-driven servers to die out, leaving the server browser filled with empty lobbies or pure "XP farms."
This goes against the "Your Rules, Your Battlefield" promise. While we understand the need to prevent abuse, the solution shouldn't be to penalize everyone. Please consider a more intelligent system that differentiates between abuse and honest play.
Find a balance that rewards honest gameplay in Portal servers with normal rules, and let the community thrive.
    Sincerely,
    A dedicated Battlefield player

That’s not false advertising as both experiences are in fact present. That being said I understand your frustration at being unable to engage with one of those experiences due to current server demand.

I’m with you on the XP aspect, reducing or eliminating XP for Portal experiences reduces the incentive to use Portal and mandating stringent requirements to get XP in portal defeats the creativity that Portal was made to inspire.  I’m not happy that DICE is repeating the same mistakes that 2042’s Portal suffered from.

They HEAVILY marketed BF6 with Portal and a PVE experience with full XP, we now don't have that anymore.

I will be filing a formal complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority within the EU.

This article contains the specific marketing promise. It states, "One of the biggest changes coming to Battlefield 6 is that players will earn EXP no matter where they play, including in Portal creations..." It then introduces the two categories: "Verified Experiences where we know there is limited risk for exploits. Those get the traditional progression." This is the promise of "traditional progression" (full XP) for modes that, at launch, were understood to include PvE with bots.

This post directly acknowledges the complaint. It states that "a large number of these servers were created primarily to earn XP... through defeating bots." It then announces the "adjustments" (the nerf) to "diminish the number of XP farms." This post is EA's own admission that PvE bot farming with XP was possible at launch and that they actively took steps to remove it, which is the core of your issue.

Relevant marketing materials related to Portal/PVE.

Do you have a link for the EU complaint?  I'll file as well.  I bought the game because of PvE progression in Portal, and they changed it, broke the advertising promise, I want a refund too.
