Feedback About Escalation
I have one of the highest play times in BF6. I wanted to commend the dev team on Escalation.
While conquest has been the bread and butter for BF games since 1942, it is without a doubt in my opinion that Escalation is the best game mode ever created by devs. It's such a simple twist to the core conquest mode, but has significant impact on the mode.
I very much like the ability to see the basic transport vehicles play a role like they do early on in the match. There is solid strategy to the mode for organized groups, it punishes players not playing the OBJ and the match moves along much faster than Conquest when a team is goofing off too much or just trying to player kill. Which is also a nice feature, that kills themselves are not affecting the score of the game, so insignificant kills that don't actually produce any real change to who wins, don't really play a role in who wins.
As the game progresses, the intensity goes from a fun kind of playing around casual beginning, to a bit more intense, and obviously then progresses into the same chaos that breakthrough can create.
The word escalation is not lost, as it truly is an escalating intensity to the match.
It really nails the core of what BF is at heart, is not plagued by issues like Breakthrough is from not being able to flank or move or have freedom to move at will, and all classes can have significant impact on the fight.
It offers something for every player with every playstyle at some point through the match, offering a player with specific style of play a moment in the match to really shine, if that be a sniper, or a tank lover, or a close quarters player, while at the same time, doesn't force anyone into something they don't like much like conquest does.
It is easily the most competitive game mode in the game alongside strike point, which players seem to take very seriously.
Give the mode time for players to understand it better, and I think it will eventually replace conquest as the bread and butter of BF in the future.
But there is going to have to be a tough decision made at some point, as either Breakthrough or Conquest need to be removed to consolidate the player base as it's spread thin between all 3.
I think personally Breakthrough should go, and leave Rush for the pure attack and defend game mode for players to play, and allow Escalation to take up the other players from that mode as the final flags feel so similar to breakthrough anyway.
So hats off to whoever came up with this after 20 years. It's top notch.
