The current gameplay balance feels noticeably faster and more arcade-like compared to traditional Battlefield entries.
Indeed, it feels faster, but that's objectively not because of the movement. So the premise is flawed.

What do you think the issue is? Genuinely curious and asking.

In terms of movement, Battlefield 6 is significantly slower than Battlefield 4, V and 2042. It is also more penalized in terms of spread and weapon sway. Yet it feels faster, because you're more often forced into situations where you have to react fast. There are multiple reasons for this, but map design is the most important one.
Where Battlefield 2042 had too little cover and extremely long engagement distances, Battlefield 6 is the exact opposite, with tons of cover and short engagement distances. To be more specific, it's the insanely large amount of angles that an enemy can engage you at, combined with the number of entry points to a given area.
If you take a map like Iberian Offensive, Manhattan Bridge, Empire State or New Sobek City, they all offer tight alleyways, really small rooms with multiple entry points and tons of verticality. A few other issues that contribute to this, is the lack of proper footstep sounds, the lack of proper interior lighting and the lack of Recon players that are willing to play in a CQB role.
So you often lack the ability to gather the information that is necessary to determine where the enemy is, before they are able to engage you. The result is that you're often surrounded before you know it and you're forced into chaotic close quarter battles where enemies can come from multiple directions.
That's also why slower movement isn't going to help you. It's going to make the problems worse. You're still going to be surrounded, but the slower movement will also make it harder for you to respond on time. The constant comparisons to CoD don't help either. They are based on feelings, not facts. In terms of movement Battlefield is nothing like CoD. If anything Battlefield V was significantly closer to the movement of CoD than Battlefield 6 is.

Holy fk an actual decent cogent take without reverting to just calling it cod. Nice one ghostflux. Just because a game has slide mechanics doesn't mean its cod, its something that is being added everywhere because it is a natural evolution of fps gaming as games can offer players more and more movement control without bogging down game engine. Yes it can get ramped up too much with some games allowing players to just skate around and bounce off the walls but that's not the case here.
Yes indeed the movement has been slowed down from recent previous bf games, and that's not a complaint I'm just saying what it is. Sliding, diving and jump chaining all have more significant penalties in bf6 as well. I also agree that map design is the compounding factor that leads to these poor experiences.
