Game is dying and it’s EA’s fault
Even after BF6 release the game had plenty of players depending on time of day/night and region. Lots of regulars and steady intake of newer players as well. If not for the lack of support with so many errors lately and a false idea of what players want out of the game by EA, it would still be thriving for a game a few years old that frankly had a rough start and battled back through the criticism.
Matchmaking is atrocious and is either imbalanced or once minimum players are in lobby takes WAY too long to start match by which time players leave or timeout and now lobby is below minimum again. This alone has made me close game many times. Also breakthrough maps suck. Need more redacted and stadium small maps or less vehicle or balanced vehicle maps (often one side gets no or limited vehicles per sector while other side gets the full arsenal). More importantly is how defender and attacker works cause I’ve been defending 6 matches in a row and I quit. That’s every day. Defend, one attacker and I get the worst of all the players from previous rounds.
Friday Night Battlefield modes are awful. Really the only good one is breakthrough and maybe Rush. Tonight is a Deathmatch grind mode and nothing bores me to tears more than deathmatch or conquest.
Why not make the official modes show numbers the way portal servers are shown? Let us see the matches in the preferred modes, show player count and ping (I’m willing to play with an above normal ping for full xp) along with map and more. It’s really not a lot to ask. Actually it’s nothing. Just make official like portal. Done.
I’ve talked to so many players who I’ve partied or gone up against nightly for 6 months or so recently who all have said these are the things that make them not want to even try and play anymore. Best way one out it was “I came to the realization I’m only playing because the nights before were frustrating and I’m chasing those enjoyable games again. Yet I can’t because the logic behind it all is bad. I could be the worst ever and have fun if I could actually join a game when I wanted and not wait all evening for a few matches before I go to bed. A game with no campaign or fulfilling single player options should be guaranteed updates and new content by the developers.”
Just needed to vent a bit in hopes EA maybe sees this I guess. But if bf2042 fully dies I’d rather go back to Left 4 Dead than play BF6.
