General BF6 feedback

Hi BF 6 Team!

I rarely give any feedback to any game but the Battlefield is a one of my (if not the) favourite game series of all time and i think it's time to share my thoughts with the new game. Discord server is looking like a rage chat and I'm not the one who would like to assist with so i decided to write it down here.

First of all overall I enjoyed BF6 season 1 but to be honest i was very tired by the end of the season to grind out everything to have enough coins for the next season. Basically during the season to finish the battle pass I felt like it is a second work and the game was not rewarding at all if it was played as i think it's meant to be. It was felt the only efficient way to level up is to complete the challenges but for most of the season these were not really casual player friendly. I understand that to keep the players active there should be challenges week by week but why should i play with shotguns and kill with them 50 person to collect 4 battlepass points and never touch the weapon again just to allow me to progress? I understand that i can reroll 4 times but even with this option at the end of the season i had some week 1-2 challenges left unfinished because i was decided to not to play with something what was not satisfying to me. It was like the Call of Duties from the early 2020s with which i burned out after one or two seasons and my ultimate goal is to avoid it with this game. Even if I was trying to do your best to achieve victory with my Team members (capture objectives, support your squadmates, spot enemies to the teammates etc) I rarely received more than 2-3 battle pass points per game and for me who has family and daytime job, it was awfully unsatisfying.

During the season I really felt even it's like a new generation Battlefield where mostly the game modes are remained the same and some newly added Call of Duty style modes are included but with not so much original ideas. Original players of Battlefield would like to play a BF and not a redesigned, reskinned CoD. The huge maps and the gigantic wars are the Battlefield we fell in love and not the small ones which is only being used to grind by several players. I do not have any issues with the hit reg. I do not have any issues with the weapons, i even think it was a good idea to implement the attachments system and to lift this idea from other shooters. But to treat this game as with which i would prefer to play for years, there should be a feeling in me that I do play a true Bf. This feeling to me is coming from fighting shoulder to shoulder with comrades for achieving victory and gets rewarded due to the fact that you won. This is what Battlefield meant to be and believe me, this will keep the players - who shares the thoughts with me - active and not a new helicopter skin to grind for.

Levelling a hardware is a nightmare… After almost 100 hours i barely have some weapons over lvl30 as I’m constantly trying to experience different weapons. To be honest i feel like when i’m in a lobby with several lvl 250+ players who has lvl 50 weapons I already understand that it’ll ba a pain in the **bleep** rather than a fair challenge. It is worth to be noted that in my opinion a redesign to this whole levelling process would help the overall experience.

It is worthwile that since the beginning of Season 2 (and even in the overtime of season 1), the challenges have been more achievable and it was a warmly welcomed change to me. Season 2 introduced a much more player friendly progression system by receiving much more battlepass points for just playing the game as it meant to play. I truly thinks that it would allow a lot of players to enjoy the game itself more and don't feel that it is a must to play each and every evening to not to lose the bf coins by not finishing the battlepass.

I know that it is very hard to satisfy everyone but the constant work of yours and especially the way you listen to the community makes me feel calm that the game is on the right path and I hope every people who takes time to write down a feedback to you is appreciated by the developer Team and these messages helps you to find out the real (not only the rage ones) thoughts of real people who puts 80-100 hours to the game because of the love for the Battlefield series.

Keep up the good work and don't force us to play a Call of Duty if we would like to play (and we did pay for) a modern Battlefield game!

Thanks Comrades!

Greetings from Hungary

  • I agree about how hard it is to level a weapon and unlock the goodies.  I main LMGs and have given up on unlocking anything of worth.  I'd love to be able to unlock the laters tiered guns and attachments, but doing so would require putting my life on hold.  I game when I can, casually, when time permits, not the other way around.

There must be many people like me who are just as frustrated with the amount of hours required in grinding even low tier unlocks.

The next biggest issue I have with this grind is that I have completely given up on trying any other classes or weapons.  I'm forced into grinding my main LMG due to the difficulty, I have no time remaining to try other weapons or classes.

Its a shame that DICE has made it so difficult to try the other weapons and classes.

  • Doesn't help with attatchment unlocks that once you unlock a weapon or it's varient & it comes with decent attatchments the next 20 or so attatchment unlocks are inferior.

Yes, that's also true.  I noticed it the other day and thought WTF, surly I'm seeing this wrong.
