Hit registration has probably been the biggest issue with this game since day one. It should be the developers' number one priority because it's genuinely ruining the gameplay experience. The real question is whether it's even fixable at this point.
I've seen several analyses from people who actually understand programming and game development, and some of them don't rule out the possibility that crossplay is part of the problem. If that's true, then I really hope the team is at least investigating it and being transparent with the community, because we've been talking about this since launch.
The problem is that we aren't even given the option to disable crossplay. I understand why, because it would probably leave us with empty servers, but if that's the case, I'm honestly not sure what the future of this game looks like.

Agreed! Hit registration should be priority #1 since it directly decides fights. And maybe because... it's a first person shooter?? If crossplay is contributing, I really hope the team is investigating and being transparent about what they’ve tested and what’s next.

crossplay is definitely one of the issues. Yesterday, played a couple of games, first was ok'ish, almost playable. Second game, hits not registering at all and getting killed by super bullets all the time. Funny enough there were a lot of non PC players...

What are you talking about? Max steam player count for BF4 was 12,500, BF6 has peaks of around 80,000 since Season 4 released.
