Yeah it doesn't really feel like Battlefield. EA/DICE don't know what Battlefield is.
They got in a CoD exec to run it. What do we expect I suppose, except they told us it would be a 'return to form' and 'grounded in realism' but more recently they talk about things like wanting a time-to-engage less than 10 seconds, ie. you should never get more than 10 seconds without being shot at (and it's usually almost constant).
No time to be tactical and thoughtful. Just run around like headless chickens and hope you hit the trigger first and lag doesn't interfere.
Battlefield was always a compromise between milsim and arcade. It straddled the middle-ground beautifully...
Then they tried to make BF5 a battle royale (it started development that way) and messed it up.
Then they tried to make BF2042 a hero shooter and messed it up.
This time they've tried to steal the CoD audience. I know it's not just like CoD, but it's clear they've done their best to make CoD players very comfy and welcome and it is at the expense of what franchise fans would actually want.
The Battlefield franchise died after BF1. I had some hope that BF6 would be good, but it's turning out to be fundamentally flawed and a lot of that is by design that won't change because it's what EA/DICE want.
