Increasing Weapon Realism could fix many problems
I have been playing Battlefield since BF2. I loved BF2. The pace of the combat and the feel of the weapons all had distinct character. You could hit and run. Play patient and crafty. Set traps. Actually retreat and regroup. I liked BF3 very much but the TTK creep had already started. Currently, BF6 and all its' weapons seem identical and are mostly death-beams with crazy ROF and bullet velocity. My fix for why BF6 feels bad to play and just yields insta-death around every corner is weapon design and its math. Go fire a real P80, Vector Kriss, M4A1 or SAW on full auto and incorporate that real experience into the weapons. Match bullet caliber/velocity with real world numbers. Increase recoil to match real world weapon behavior. Bring back player weapon handling skill instead of fast twitch reflex only point and kill gameplay. Match weapon effective ranges with bullet caliber and barrel length. BF6 feels like an arcade game where a bunch of ants are thrown into a box too small for them and made to fight rather than a game where you can use any form of strategy, patience or terrain advantage as every spot on the map keeps you vulnerable. Slow the weapons down a bit, reduce their range, give vehicles a chance to operate and avoid RPG that don't fly at 800 m/s. The Battlefield Gameplay Experience is/was supposed to be exciting, not a frenzy. Pull back the weapon velocity stats to BF3 or 4 lvls and actually give people a chance to play the game. Consider increasing the player health pool, turning off health regen and giving Assault a Medkit to drop as a gadget instead of the unimpressive ladder and breaching grenade. The way things are now, the whole game revolves around who gets muzzle on who first while running around like a chicken with its head cut off, rather than any form of strategic or crafty gameplay. I just want to see the game get better. If BF Players wanted a fast-twitch arena shooter, there are dozens to choose from.
