Is It Just Me, or Does Bf4 Still Offer Better Gameplay and Teamplay Than Bf6?
After the Battlefield 2042 launch, many players expected Battlefield 6 to be a clear course correction. Instead, it repeats many core issues—just in a different form.
Battlefield 6 moves away from what made the franchise strong: class identity, meaningful teamplay, immersion, and natural player interaction. Battlefield 4 excelled in these areas, which is why it still has an active, dedicated playerbase today.
Playing Battlefield 4 again really highlights how far Battlefield 6 has drifted. The current state of shotguns was the final turning point for me, on top of many other issues that make Battlefield 6 no longer feel like Battlefield. Also, blocking some of my friends from playing Battlefield 6 in Russia was another factor that turned me away—simply too many things were done wrong again.
That said, Battlefield 6 still has positives: graphics and scale can be impressive, and some gameplay mechanics show promise—but these cannot make up for the loss of the core Battlefield experience that players loved.
