Yeah, I honestly agree with a lot of what you’re saying. I’ve also played Battlefield for many years, and the helicopter farming can make the infantry experience incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to play the objective and feel like you’re just target practice for aircraft.
The SOFLAM situation is especially annoying. You’re trying to help your team deal with air vehicles, but the moment you use it, you can basically paint a giant “KILL ME” sign over your head, while sometimes you can have a helicopter right in front of you and your AA simply won’t lock on.
That said, I still think we’re allowed to hope that DICE can make a jungle map that actually works for infantry. The Pacific maps in BFV showed that you can have huge maps with an incredible atmosphere and some vehicles without turning the entire experience into vehicle farming.
Give infantry proper cover, trenches, caves, bunkers, dense jungle and objectives that aircraft can’t simply erase with one pass. Let helicopters have their role without making infantry the food source for them all match.
I’ve been playing Battlefield for years too, and I really want the infantry experience to improve. I don’t think the answer is removing vehicles completely — I just want the game to remember that there are a LOT of infantry players who should actually be able to enjoy the map as well.
So yeah, I’m still hoping. 😂 If DICE ever does a Vietnam-style jungle map, please give us an actual infantry battlefield and not a giant helicopter buffet.
