Let Us Play How We Want (Suggestion)
Seems a lot of players on each platform (Console & PC) are frustrated with the current state of cross-play in Battlefield. One only has to read through the Battlefield subreddit, and through this official EA forum to see the many posts of frustrated players. I play on PC, and I do not care at all for cross-play. Nothing personal, I simply prefer to play with other PC players using a M&K. I also think everyone (console and PC) should have the option to fully disable cross-play if they wish to do so. And we should also have the option for input-based matchmaking.
Options should be as follows. Simply select how YOU want to play.
- Full cross-play with all platforms (PC, PS and Xbox)
- Cross-play off. You will ONLY be matched with other players on your specific platform. PS and Xbox players will still be grouped together since they are console players. And PC players would only be matched against each other, of course.
- Input-based matchmaking preference
Option A. All Devices (will match you with players on controller and M&K)
Option B. Preferred Device (will ONLY match you with players using your preferred input device. You'll choose either controller or M&K from the 2 input options)
My preference from the options above would be number 2 and option B, as I prefer to match ONLY with other PC players using a M&K.
Seriously, how hard is this to do? Considering the number of frustrated players I've seen posting about cross-play, this seems like the most sensible thing Dice could do. This way everyone can play as they wish! And we all win, right? 😁
