Let's talk about spawning
If there's one thing that deserves attention in Battlefield 6, it's the spawning system. Personally I don't know what the developers were thinking when they designed the system in Battlefield 2042, as it's quite honestly the worst spawn system I've seen in decades.
There's roughly two categories of spawning. Spawning on objectives is the first category, spawning on everything else is the second category. For example, spawning on a squad is a deliberate choice to spawn at a very specific location. It's fine if that comes with the risk of being killed, because the reward is spawning close to your teammates. The rest of this post will focus only on objective spawns.
Here's a couple of suggestions that I'd like to make that would drastically improve the experience:
- Always spawn players close to cover.
- Never spawn players in direct line of sight to an enemy.
- Never spawn players in the audible range of an enemy.
- Weapons should be ready-to-fire as you spawn and shouldn't first require an animation.
- Once you think that you have enough spawn locations for a single objective, add at least 20 more.
- If a player has been recently killed at a specific spawn point, pick a different spawn point.
It won't be perfect and I doubt that's even possible, but at least you don't have to die a preventable instant death.
