Make non-squad gaming possible for solo players

Hi!

For solo players who do want go on their own, I'd suggest making non-squad playing possible. This way, when not in tight communication with others to plan out tactics and strats, solo gamers can enjoy their solitude. I do often play lone wolf, when there's nobody to squad up with, and like minding own businesses. Others are just spawn points at that point if not being able to do lone runs alone.

Forced squads have been issue since BFV, if recall correctly. Can you, please, let us have squad-free gameplay as an option?

  • I don't see the point? Having extra spawn points is an advantage? Why would you deliberately avoid using that advantage?

You don't have to talk and you don't have to stay together. The game doesn't force you to do anything with your squad.

  • If the squad management system offers the same functionality as it does in BF2042 this is a non-issue. Just create new squad and lock it.

But asghostflux said why would you?

Extra spawns are great, but if it cost strategic advantage of my playstyle, which is remaining unseen/low profile then it isn't any longer. That's true that you can do locked squad, but for some reason after one round it opens up automatically (?) for joins (that maybe a bug). That's why I play without squad in BF4.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're afraid of teammates spawning on your location and then giving away your position? That's an interesting subject.

Just a question, but would a toggle that disables teammates spawning on you also be a solution?

  • Also, due to sensitivity to performance anxiety, I don't like others monitoring my gameplay. I get overtly vigilant when squad members stay in spawn screen. I fear they watches my gameplay to judge me 😞

I see your point about your cover being blown as I had that problem happen a few times, my solution was to delay the respawn time if you do it from allies so bases and becon are a preferable choice. It doesn't fully address your concerns but i think it would help, check my post for "hard swap (old feature)" let me know what you think

Yes, I'm afraid of that strategic disadvantage. Also, in the sense that it leaves outsiders being able to spectate my performance in mini-respawn screen. That wouldn't be solved by switch.

I like to hide my flanks and in BF3 recon kit didn't have in person spawning (screen either if recall correctly) once beacon was deployed. It was nerve relieving. I prefer lone wolfing in BF4 when feeling unsure and playing alone.

Having lone locked squad is wasting space of squads. Thus, having non-squad positions would allow better "squad economy". I'll play together with friends when they join.

If there's one thing you should understand is that nobody actually cares. People are mostly preoccupied with themselves. They aren't going to concern themselves with a random on their squad. Even if they bother looking at you, they'll have forgotten about it the next minute. There's really nothing to worry about.

And yes, despite all of that you'll still occasionally meet people that have some anger management issues. You can just ignore them as it's their problem, not yours.
