I don't see the point? Having extra spawn points is an advantage? Why would you deliberately avoid using that advantage?
You don't have to talk and you don't have to stay together. The game doesn't force you to do anything with your squad.
Extra spawns are great, but if it cost strategic advantage of my playstyle, which is remaining unseen/low profile then it isn't any longer. That's true that you can do locked squad, but for some reason after one round it opens up automatically (?) for joins (that maybe a bug). That's why I play without squad in BF4.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're afraid of teammates spawning on your location and then giving away your position? That's an interesting subject.
Just a question, but would a toggle that disables teammates spawning on you also be a solution?

Yes, I'm afraid of that strategic disadvantage. Also, in the sense that it leaves outsiders being able to spectate my performance in mini-respawn screen. That wouldn't be solved by switch.
I like to hide my flanks and in BF3 recon kit didn't have in person spawning (screen either if recall correctly) once beacon was deployed. It was nerve relieving. I prefer lone wolfing in BF4 when feeling unsure and playing alone.
Having lone locked squad is wasting space of squads. Thus, having non-squad positions would allow better "squad economy". I'll play together with friends when they join.
