Matchmaking

It's all about player retention. Not long ago you would join a server and stay in that server as long as you wanted.. Playing the maps in the designed rotation. You could stay if you liked or leave if it got too sweaty or stale. Now, they decide who you play against match to match. The developers ideally want everyone around a 1K/D, They know that if you're just under it you're gonna try hard to reach it, and if you're just above it you're gonna put in the same effort to get further above it. Why is K/D ,and not W/L featured on the stats screen?

Matchmaking is optional, you know. There are also persistent community servers as the other option. You know, like old Battlefield games; where you use the server browser, filter the options to find the server you want to join, see the name, ping, population, and maps ahead of time, join the server, stay in a fixed map rotation, and play round after round with the same people. It's still there in BF6. You just have to choose not to use matchmaking. Use the server browser, apply thr rush, conquest, and breakthrough filter, choose 1-5 or 6-10 free slots, search, and see a list of populated servers with full XP, no farm or afk crap, and join.
