Medals, Ribbons and Dogtags...

I agree these things enhance the experience and looking through what you need to unlock or what medals you are close to or which weapons you need to master draws you in to play more games.

Battlefield 1’s system was bare bones, I personally prefer how Battlefield 3 and 4 handled medals, ribbons and dogtags.

Honestly, I’d love to see the return of the Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 4 medal systems.

BF2 gave you that real sense of military progression, with ranks, time-based medals, and specific requirements that made each unlock feel like an achievement. BF4, on the other hand, nailed the balance between constant action-based rewards (like ribbons) and long-term goals (medals and assignments).

Battlefield 1’s system felt limited with the rotating medals, and BFV basically ditched it entirely. BF3 was solid, but I still think BF2 and BF4 had the most satisfying progression.

Great idea, I especially like the dog tags in BF4 and BF1, it would be nice to have a system to track medals as well.

Aye, i enjoyed the ribbons and dogtags. 
Ribbons were a nice source of XP for doing useful actions. such as healing and repairing vehicles. 

The myriad of dogtags was a joy to browse and collect.  

The progression system in BF4 was so good, so much depth. BF1 was also decent but it was too easy to complete to close to 100%. In BF4 it took some serious dedication to actually get some decent progression.

I’d love to see it happen though.

I loved the long-term-goal progression in BF2, I do wonder if the average player these days would have the patience to put up with it. But I think it would be cool to have. 

I think in every Battlefield game the amount of people that actually worked on progression from a completionist perspective is very little. Most people just play the game and don’t really care for these rewards. 

I never played BF2 so I can’t really say anything about that. My experience comes from BF4 and onwards.

Absolutely, Anobix,I loved it too! That long-term progression in BF2 really gave players something meaningful to work toward.

It was a different kind of grind, but definitely satisfying for those who enjoyed chasing goals.

Yeah, that looks like a pretty serious grind, no handouts there😅

I definitely would love to see something like that come back, although personally I’m always a bit weary about requirements like ‘in a round’ or ‘in a life’, because it tends to encourage camping and other disruptive play styles. But I’m all about chasing goals and chipping away at my progression.
