Indeed. It was bad enough when they started developing for console and PC at the same time - everything got 'dumb-downed'. The interface, the gunplay, the lobby, the server program.
Now they apparently are developing for console first and PC is pretty much a 'port'.
Battlefield was the best shooter because it was more sophisticated than the other offerings.
No longer and not for a long time.
P.S. I am not insulting console gaming or gamers. I play consoles too and always have, but they are _different_ and excel with different games. PC games have many of their own limitations and issues.
This isn't a console vs PC issue. This is an EA/DICE versus good development practices issue. They are doing some very lazy and user-unfriendly stuff to avoid going to the effort ofmaking the game the best it can be for both console and PC.
I started on 360 and some of my best battlefield memories are from there, but it was always a pc first game.
