New Open vs. Closed Weapons Feedback After Blog Post

So just found out about the rediculous decision to stick to Open Weapons, whats even more annoying about this is the shady way of dealing with it and providing false/scewed data, this is pretty much how Activision would deal with something like this.

You claimed that the difference in people playing Open Vs closed Weapons was 1-2% yet on the first weekend Close weapons Conquest was hidden behind like 2 menus to even find it!
On the second weekend you hid it again but this time made it a Moshpit style mode and combined it with Conquest and Breakthrough, meaning if you didnt like breakthrough then couldn't play Closed Weapons Conquest and was forced to play Open Weapons conquest.

Yet still 49%-51% of the players was willing to put up with this absolute nonsense and jump through hoops to play it anyways because they wanted to finally play a real Battlefield experience for the first time in several years. So now imagine how your precious data would look if you didnt hide and deliberately make people not want to play the playlist it would have easily been the most played option by a mile.

A difference of 1-2% when you made it so difficult to find and play is all the proof you need to ditch this stupid system.

The type of person who would vote on an IGN poll is the type that I wouldn't trust lol. What respectable gamer follows them anymore?

So 2,400 people voted, which isn't a very good sample size for a game that reportedly sold 1.7 million in preorders on Steam, and is projected to sell 5 million copies during the first week after it's launched.

The beta had both playlist visible, so it's clear what was more popular. This is just a matter of people not being happy with the result and trying to find a way to discredit it.

personally I wouldn't mind it as much if they did a better job at balancing the classes, as it brings out problems that already have been made in 2042 by adopting an open weapon system. I don't have a problem with the shotgun, I actually like where the shotgun is at and weapons overall are being worked on and I like what they are doing but I need to try it before i give my opinion on that. My issue is with the classes as they are very unbalanced and open weapons emphasize this. Assault gets 2 weapons, beacon, and ladder regardless of the path you choose. Support gets infinite ammo and heals but fire support is just better at resupplying. Engineer is decent but recon gets better what? spotting? Not to mention spec ops path is practically pointless, this bothers me and close weapons would help this issue but instead we have to play second fiddle to this and wait for someone to make it and hope we find it to play it, when we should be enjoying conquest on the first day. New players are already getting Battle Royale and the other one so y can't we enjoy the base game, it honestly frustrating specially when they do things like the ones stated in the post or comments.

I'm not saying people shouldn't play the game because despite its faults, bf6 has shown BF potential and what most of us love in this game, but its also frustrating that after all this time they are trying to bs us, and no i don't believe it was a bug. Standard conquest should have been close weapons and they should have added open weapons as optional so people can try it for what it is and if they still want to play open then they have several options to chose from.

The difference is that you can still play with signature weapons, even with a open weapon system. I understand it is not perfect, but at least it is better than a closed weapon system would be for me.

Support: No movement speed penalty while using LMGs
Assault: Faster sprint-to-fire, faster switching between weapons

Open had a few different game modes, was always on the main page.

Closed got fobbed off to the side, and during the second beta the only way to play conquest by itself was to play open or you had to play breakthrough too as they got squished together in the ONLY closed playlist.

  • I personally rather have closed but thinks change for all wrong reasons.  People will say and do anything since generation of gaming has been really bad last three years.  What else coming out after bf6 nothing so they will profit from lack of competition.

  • I called it, only way to play closed weapons is all out warfare....

    This is not acceptable.
