Nice mortar changes but the drone needs a buff vs them after that.
According to the patch notes, these are the changes that will follow:
Increased Portable Mortar HE shell effectiveness against stationary weapons (Mortars, emplacements, etc) and vehicles on direct hit, as well as infantry under heavy fire.
Portable Mortar can now be deployed within HQ areas.
Considering the restrictive layout of Breakthrough maps for attackers, it makes sense that you finally made them deployable inside the HQ. ?? I also wanted that to happen so I am quite happy with the change.
BUT
This creates another problem due to enemy soldiers and drones not being able to get inside the HQ to attempt stop the mortar activity and the only counter for an HQ mortar will end up being other mortars and that if the CRAM does not interfere.
To that end I propose these two changes to the recon drone:
- Make the recon drone able to fly over the enemy HQ just like the regular aircraft can, anywhere that soldiers can stand on, it should also be able to go. This will help a recon drone reach an HQ mortar lover.
- Bring back the ability of the drone to also kill the mortar user when it zaps the mortar just like it was during the release of the game and just like you promised that it would happen before even BF6 released. Without the drone also killing the guy on the mortar, they will just look up the sky annoyed, shoot the drone and instantly deploy a new mortar that was in their inventory and carry on. This will be especially important if multiple players will make a habbit of camping the HQ with mortars, since the drone will perish before it can take out more than 1 of them after the first annoyed ex mortar user starts shooting at it.
It does not take a genius to predict what will happen if you do not buff the drones as a counter to the HQ mortars. One just have to play the game themselves and they will learn how the players think and act when they find a safe way to kill others.
