Flares need to be nerfed before the only 50/50 chance of downing an aircraft is changed. 

Anti-air weaponry as it stands have a near zero chance of downing an aircraft and rely solely on the pilot making a mistake. 

The answer to this problem is: the Anti-Air Tank. It recycles it's anti-air missiles and it's ammo endlessly. I've never had to go back to the tank supply station for either.

The anti-air tank is ready to fire two missiles. As everybody knows, first you lock on to your helicopter or jet, wait for them to panic and pop players and if they don't fire your first missile. When they see the INCOMING warning, they definitely will either pop their flares or get to low altitude or out of range or both. But you have your second missile ready before their flares are ready again. 

You can use the Anti-Air Tank from a safe spot, and I have only been killed in my tank one time because one jet pilot was so pissed at me shooting him down that he literally crash dived into my tank!!!

It was funny though, I got the KILL for it. Hahaha!

As far as I can tell it does only two things, it increases the damage of the missile and it allows launchers to work against targets they wouldn't otherwise work against. Ground based launchers can attack air targets and vice versa. It doesn't fundamentally change the way you deal with incoming missiles. It's still a matter of using your flares and retreating before they can lock-on again.

The red laser coming from the laser designator is quite observable, so you may choose to look around and see where you're being painted from. You can then see whether you're able to engage the target.
