The Chinese community was so thrilled when they found out they could continue playing their favorite Chinese BF4 soldier in BF6 and receive some level of representation in the game. Many even came back to play BF2042 and spent day and night grinding that battle pass to level 49, only to find out the Chinese soldier skin is for a NATO JAPANESE FEMALE SOLDIER Kimura?
I am so appalled by the cultural appropriation and this decision, and the underlying racism of DICE. Do they seriously think that it would be a good fit simply because Chinese and Japanese are all Asian? Do DICE even dare to put the BF4 Russian soldier skin onto a Ukrainian soldier in BF6? Why is it that when it comes to white people, DICE suddenly understands all the complications between geopolitical tension and knows not all white people are the same?
I understand that DICE wants to please the Chinese community to play BF6 by this skin, but they are doing exactly the opposite right now. The decision to censored the Chinese flag on the arm is a disappointing but understandable move, but fitting that skin onto a Japanese soldier would only be considered a direct humiliation to players.
How difficult would it be to fit a new soldier model with a few lines of background anyway? Just copy paste one Pax Armata soldier model and fit the skin onto him, write a few lines of background about this Chinese soldier fighting the war, representing himself, and call it a day. They don't even need to redo the face considering the gas mask
Also, 2 battlepass skins for NATO and 0 for Pax? Phantom skin modifications? Seriously DICE?
