playing custom games with friends

For switching teams, you need to make a rule that makes the player switch teams when an event of their choice occurs.

if all you want is 2v2, you could host a custom server, with a password, and just have them join while they are not in your party. they should automatically be on the other team in order to keep a team balance. they could just join in order that puts each on the correct team.

or, if you are playing with bots on and that makes it hard to time joining and getting people on the correct team, you could make a rule that balances teams automatically, and then "kick" bots as necessary to cause the balancer to moe people.

there are different ways. It just depends what you think is best or easiest.

I could make something, if you said what you want. What map? What game mode? With bots or without bots? With vehicles or without? Or at least we could maybe find that already existing.

I mean, I have multiple TDM or objective-based maps that I already made. Any one couod be hosted by you with a password. And any one they could join, not in your party, and automatically be on opposing teams. 

i'll try out the 2v2 trick  , also ill try and fiddle with the scripts in portal to make the free for all work hopefully as i dont want to burden you with making it haha , but if you have one already made that has no bots, TDM  and maybe like small scale maps mostly i'd appreciate having the code for it , thank you so much for the help ,really appreciate it.

Thought there has to be 8 players to start the match. How can you start a 2v2 when portal requires 8 players to start? Is there work around?

not exactly sure but when i fiddled around with portal , it gives you a layout of how many teams and their player counts that can be in the experience, so i think you can set the experience to have no bots and tweak the count of human players settings if i remember correctly.

Portal custom doesn't have those limits.

It has to be custom anyway because:

1. TDM or Free-for-all are not verified modes.
2. Team switching is not possible without custom rules.

In custom games, you can have many bots or no bots. You can start the game with just one player. No limits. No XP either except for rank XP and battlepass XP.

I was just thinking... There could be an object you interact with to turn bots on as well, if you wanted, if the gameplay gets stale.

Instead of asking if I should, I did.

Interact with 'switch team' to switch yourself to other team. Interact with 'toggle bots' to turn bots on or off.

Bots start in the off state each round. Turn them on, if you want, and they will spawn one every second, alternating teams. Interact again at any time to stop them spawning in. That's why it's called 'toggle'. If left on, they will continue to spawn as necessary to fill the server, but will not prevent players joining.  If you turn them off, they will dwindle as you kill them, or you can restart match to get rid of them right away.
