god forbid a better player outperforms someone... The problem isn't the helicopter... the problem is that you want to be able to kill a vehicle that does require a bit more skill to utilize as easily as point and click...
this community hates nothing more than a better player

LMAO, why do these so-called "pro heli" pilots only play ONE map? Obviously being abused. If they were so amazing, they'd fly any map.

You must be one of those seasoned pilots then. You immediately reduced the post to, "get gud." Congratulations, way to discount and evade discussion about fairness when it obviously benefits you and how you like to play.

the opposite really.. i am probably one of the worst pilots you could find in this game, hence i do not play helis...
but what i do have is plenty of understanding of game mechanics. RPGs are probably the strongest they have been in franchise history now with insane velocities, barely any drop and the ability to one hit kill pretty much all helis. If all you do is stand in the open with an AA launcher waiting for a lock on on any map you deserve to get killed by the better pilot. Manhattan is also arguebly the ONLY map a decent pilot can utilize cover to doge. Other maps (pretty much all other maps to be exact) are suffering from the insane lock on ranges in general... 600m... that is how far the distance is. 600m that is larger than most maps are and you can sit in your base and lock a vehicle the moment you deploy...
you know how normal a dumb fire heli kill has become in BF6? so normal that you barely see them in any highligh reels...
the point about spawnkilling helis is the only valueable piece of argumentation brought forth and that has been debated plenty already...- JudasSheeple7 hours agoRising Vanguard
Well, I stand corrected then. You and I can battle it out for worst helo pilot 😉.
I don't know what game you are playing but my experience is the opposite. The only time helos are not a problem is when there is a near equally skilled pilot on both teams (specifically on Manhattan Bridge). I rarely see ANY AA engineers, regardless of map. Why is that? Because AA is ineffective. I end up spending lots of time; in map provided AA just to have a chance. I end up shooting down more helos with TOWs than MANPADs.
I don't know why you are so hard for lock on range... So what if it is 600m. The real lock on range of the FIM-92 is 3 miles (4.8km). 600m in game is far enough, maybe if the maps were bigger this wouldn't be as much a problem as you think it is.
You are saying Manhattan bridge is the only map with decent cover? What about Mirak Valley? It has buildings and helo pilots fly around it constantly for cover. Maybe Liberty Peak and its mountains and valley they dive into when things get lock on them? Sobek City has multiple buildings as well... Operation Firestorm has the refinery, the mountains and its wide, so going East to West gives pilots the ability to out run the missile or at least run to the refinery. I think your "arguably the only map" doesn't hold water. Maybe the problem isn't MANPADs on these maps but self-propelled AA or that these maps have more of everything shooting at them (tanks included). This is the opposite for Manhattan Bridge where tank effectiveness, amount of players, in-map weapons are limited and cover is in over abundance.
I am not speaking as some nub but from my experience in this game (I'm also a longtime BF vet). It usually takes at LEAST a 2 man team to be effective against a even moderately skilled pilot. Hardly anyone takes the laser designator which can make it easier but, it is not commonly used. So, provided you get a perfect storm of skilled AA players who choose to do AA work, you will get shoot downs. Other wise the helos run amuck as on Manhattan Bridge.

The problem is the heli and the problem will always be the heli until dice realizes its stupid to have aircraft in BF games because they can't ever get the balance right. Shoulder fired AA is trash, you can't lock on when they are low to the ground, flares are on way too short of a CD and if by some miracle you hit them it doesn't matter because it takes two shots to take them out. No one ever runs AA because its just an awful experience. You can spend an entire game running AA and maybe take the Heli out one time.
If anyone wants to know why every BF dies, it aint because of lack of content. Its because of balance, and aircraft are almost always the main balance complaint. Just stop putting them in the game.
