Portal regression: Private matches with <8 players blocked in objective modes

The ability to launch a game with my 5 friends with bots included or not does not exist in 6. We just want to play rush, conquest, whatever. This was possible in all previous iterations of bf. Ok I can create a tdm custom mode but that's it. Why is it different?
