Quick & Constructive Feedback on S3 so far: It's ok. 5/10

The good:

  • Map size. A big improvement (literally), however we should've had more of this from the start. The rest of the game feels too small. (Remember, big doesn't mean badly designed or empty).
  • Dagger skins in Battlepass. This is a good idea, as new squads and characters should always be in the passes, not shop bundles.
  • Airspace. Feels bigger but again, lots of work to do for the rest of the game.
  • Music. The S3 theme and the overall compositions are shining through, very well done there.
  • Some new weapons accessed earlier on in the pass. For example, the new sniper. This is good.

The bad:

  • Team Balancing. I've played 13 matches of the Golmud mix, and so far each and every one has been a big loss. The teams are still very unbalanced.
  • Unrealistic gun and skin designs. While there's some big improvements with Stryx and some new S3 skins for weapons and characters, there's still lots of wacky decals that are overpriced and too colourful.
  • Jet & anti air balance. The planes have more focus this time, but still have no loadouts and die extremely quickly, added to by matchmaking. There's no modes to train, or focus on aircraft exclusively.
  • Vehicle updates. Have they been updated? They still die very quick and still snipe from afar. I thought we were getting a focus on more frontline tank based balancing?
  • The store. Very overpriced skins, bundles with items we don't want, such as AI stickers or backgrounds. What if we just want skins? At least Fortnite offers variety. Some are more than the entire pass. The whole store and the way items are priced and bundled needs addressing. This is also an issue with the battlepass. There's lots of "filler" rubbish thrown in. We want to earn skins and weapons primarily. The little extras don't feel they are worth the effort.

Netcode still feels off, as does footstep audio. Again, it's an ok update, but when S3 sits next to the rest of the game, it still feels a bit flat, as we needed more sooner. Hopefully in time this will change?

  • Update: I'm now at a whopping 18 Golmud losses from my day off today. Again, matches are going extremely fast. I don't believe matchmaking has had any improvements yet.

I'm now up to 32 losses on the Golmud Conquest/Escalation mix.

To be honest, I'm tempted to throw it down to a 4/10, due to the increased amount of glitches. I was under the impression that matchmaking was going to be a priority, but other than a big map, it seems to be very broken everywhere else.

Reinstalled the game to see what changes and actually weapons spread ....... , lag with rpg still here, rpg  still miss targets  at 20m the rocket just unpop from existance before hit tank. Hitreg also same maybe worst just release 30 bullets in the back of a dude and nothing a sniper pwned me after that. Most of weapons have strange behavior like peashooter just does nothing. Still see high ping ppl.

Most of parties are with bots in conquest and breakthrough. And for finish at the end of last party i got a crash^^

P.S Little bird fly well anyway i dunno if its in update or not.

Well i don't know how to rate it  atm.

Its impossible to balance BF.  Depending on which region and time you are playing, there wont be anyone to balance with.  Especially if you are hand selecting only certain maps.  Queue times are always longer at the beginning of the season.  Unless you are playing the new map, normal conquest queues take longer.  Or  you get thrown into a game that already started.

Communication is a factor or balancing.  Most people dont use their mics because on discord etc.  But then you have the crossplay factor too.   I consider myself an advanced player.

I have over 630 hours in the game.  If the boys get on, one squad can make the difference between a blow out and a good game.  I might be able to dominate some games.  But other times, there is zero team play from my side.  No medics, no communication, just die respawn repeat.

Or there are times where our team cant hold a single objective.  Every objective we leave, we lose.  The best matches are where there are atleast 2 squads of competent players.  Keeps the game close.  But lets be honest, 25% of the server isnt doing anything for the objective at any given point.  The next 25% doesnt understand or doesnt care about team play or how the dynamics of respawning cost tickets, etc.  Its almost always the players doing the least that complain the most during games.

The reality is, the skill ceiling for casuals is way lower compared to 4-10 players at the top of the scoreboard at any given time.

Then why are the majority of matches I've experienced ending fast? Golmud lasts longer on average (for now), yet there's repeatedly a huge mismatch between mean average of both teams, sometimes as large as 250+.

Currently as it stands, I'm up to 33 Golmud losses. That's insane compared to the wins, which is as low as 4.

One match yesterday had two squads of players all 200+, some pushing 500. Our team was primarily new players, which lead to a much quicker defeat.
