Re: Xbox Hard Crashing/Shutting Off While Playing BF6

Since the beta, Battlefield 6 crashes my Xbox series X after about an hour of gameplay. This can be a full power off crash or simply just a crash to the home screen.

EA - let me clarify some things:

  1. My console is clean. Heat sink is spotless as is the fan and intake. I clean it frequently, so please don’t offer this solution and mark the problem as “solved” as has been done in other posts.
  2. Battlefield 6 is the only game that causes this. I’ve spent hours playing many other titles without this problem.
  3. Many other console users are having this issue. I’ve seen hundreds of posts both here and elsewhere of people having the exact same problem with your game that they desperately want to play. Continuing to offer up “clean your console” as a solution is extremely off putting to a large portion of your user base facing this issue. There’s clearly a deeper flaw somewhere.

EA - on a personal level, I love this game. It’s probably one of the best FPS in recent memory. That makes the console crashing problem sting even more because it’s tainting a genuinely great experience. Please help those of us who just want to enjoy this game.

Have you tried the common trouble-shooting steps for console issues already? I'd assume so, but worth a shot trying if you haven't already.

    1. Clear the Xbox system cache
Temporary system files can corrupt and cause crashes in certain games.

    1. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to fully shut down.
    2. Unplug for 1 minute.
    3. Restart normally.

    2. Delete the game’s reserved space
Corrupt reserved space (game-specific cache files) is a frequent cause of crashes.

    1. Go to My Games & Apps → Battlefield 6 → Manage Game
    2. Select Saved Data → Reserved Space → Clear Reserved Space
(This does not delete your cloud saves.)

    3. Reinstall the game
If a file became corrupted during an update or beta patch, only a clean reinstall fixes it.

    1. Uninstall Battlefield 6
    2. Restart console
    3. Reinstall fresh

I’ll give this a shot and reply back if it resolved the problem.
