I have the honour of running a clan/discord server for older 40+ gamers, I myself am 73, many, 60% of us are 50+, we are no longer as agile or as effective in pvp mode as we once were, we love playing together, we love the, (sorry, loved), past tense, the portal, thus playing a pve mode against bots, who hasten to say are not so easy to put down when they mob you, (as you designed them), we didn't play pve to farm, but to have fun, without the ultra high speed, high octane style of the youngsters .. We all bought this game based on your promise of "play as you want to play" which included a portal containing access to pve bot mode, you have removed that mode, which disgusts us, and many others by removing what we paid for, 60% of our clan have quit. Oldies, disabled and lower ability players have, by your actions, been excluded by you reneging on advertised content, which btw, is still there as originally stated, yet isn't available, no warning, no advisement, just ... removal .. No doubt you small print will state you have the right, but morally you do not, taking our money on false pretence could be a form of fraud, perhaps a class action might well develop, ouch, that would be embarrassing .. So, please appease the excluded players mentioned earlier, give us back what we paid for, with no xp or progression penalties, and find another way, that is fair to EVERYONE, that prevents the obvious abuse of the portal system that was actually caused/created by your inadequate ability to predict the situation in the first place .. You have upset and deprived thousands of players by this action, we are not children easily bullied by your power play antics, we will fight back, we are experienced adults, with funds and knowledge to fight back, warning ? Threat ? Neither, just fact.

When you're a PvE or COOP player you pay the same ... you just get less.

I believe we would enjoy a Solo/Co-op mission series populated with bots (as in BF 2042) and a few players would be a good way to go.I certainly don't support Portal Bot XP Farming as was being created by some players.I, by the way, I'm a 74-year-old senior citizen as others are. I disagree with portal progression needing to be separate from online progression. DICE had given casual players a way to be able to do daily and weekly missions with standard portal instances. This works well in BF2042 and a few of us get together to do just that. It's very different with us older folks playing against younger folk who have way better reflexes or spend much more time playing.

All Dice/EA have or had to do is decouple the progression in Portal modes from main PVP game modes and likely resolve a lot of the anger around this. They should have known original plan would be exploited as they went through similar with BF2042 Portal and planned accordingly. Despite that, if they had come out and instead of nuking stuff and announced XP/Progression was being disabled until they could code in the split progression I think many in the player base would have been OK with that. The timing on all of this also completely stinks - Dice/EA should have predicted that the way they implemented Portal was going to allow for bot farms. I say the timing of all of this stinks because the only people I heard or saw talking about bot farming were those same streamers Dice/EA are catering to. It was allowed to stay juuuuust long enough for the streamers to get all their unlocks before Dice/EA not only dial progression back, but completely remove ability to get XP at all when bots outnumber human players? Yeah, nothing fishy there at all.

I have certain weapon classes and vehicles that I am not quite proficient in that i would like to get acclimated in Bots/Co-op matches to outside conventional matchmaking.
And after working 64-72 hours a week I sometimes need a more casual environment of enjoying the game.

I am also an older gamer, and if I had known before that EA would REMOVE the weapon progression FEATURE in bot games AFTER RELEASE, I would NOT HAVE PURCHASED the game.
EA, at least give us SOLO gameplay modes vs bots with limited weapon progression like BF2042 had. IMHO a publisher cannot just REMOVE ADVERTISED FEATURES after release.

You're stupid. They advertised and sold a feature that was a key selling point for a large number of players and then removed it. We deserve the return of progression or a refund or we need to take action in every way possible.

I'm in the same boat....in an over 25's clan, but most would be over 50 with eldest a cool 83 yr old. We thoroughly enjoyed jumping into bot portal for some shoot n giggles. I think in the future things may change & some 'oldies' portal servers may rise up through the chaos.

Couldn't agree more, we are also a group of "older" gamers been at it for about 25 years the removal of bots is terrible, portal is where we are able to create a server where we can all gather on a Sunday night to battle against bots and our other members, the game was bought on the proviso that we could play our way, obviously this isn't the case. Reinstate the hots on portal please.

I'm holding off buying the game until they bring back some sort of XP and weapon progression for PvE. So glad I didn't buy on day one believing their marketing about full XP in Portal. Very sneaky DICE that's a whole lot of player trust you've just eroded. I'll keep my £60 for now thanks.

I said it before but it didn’t get much visibility so I’ll say it here; I don’t understand why they totally stripped challenge progress from bots, let alone got rid of them. I am assuming the bots will return to portal at some point, hopefully with a reworked progression system as I don’t think it’s fair for PvE to invalidate all challenge progress.
I will not advocate for 1:1 progress as bots are just factually easier, I don’t think that it’s a huge deal that progress was faster with but I won’t argue with those that do, I just want some progress. Make bots count towards challenges less than players, make it so that 10-20 bot kills count as 1 player kill or something. But there are so many reasons to want PvE, and that should not be invalidated as an experience.

I second that emotion! The four of us (we are all in our 70s) have been playing Battlefield from the beginning (starting with 1942). Please give us Solo/Co-op Mode, like in 2042. Hell, we'd even be ready to be given the choice to only play against bots with our own advancements and rewards, so as not to disrupt the "integrity" of the PvP 'human' advancements and rewards.
