Removing RUSH is a Critical Mistake

Dear EA and Battlefield Development Team,

I am writing this post to voice my strong opposition regarding the recent removal of the RUSH mode from the Quickplay matchmaking pool. As a long-time veteran of this franchise, I firmly believe that RUSH should not only be brought back immediately, but it deserves its own permanent, standalone Quickplay playlist.

Here are the key reasons why the community needs RUSH, and why the current alternative is failing:

  1. The Pinnacle of Battlefield’s Golden Age
We must look back at Battlefield 3, where RUSH reached its absolute pinnacle. It was the definitive mode for veteran players, offering unparalleled tactical depth and heart-pounding tension. It was the very mode that defined the golden age of the franchise. Removing it feels like turning your back on the core community that has supported this game for years.
  2. Modernizing RUSH: Scaling Up the Warfare
Instead of shelving RUSH, the team should be expanding it. RUSH has the potential to scale beautifully with modern player counts. Increasing the scale to 24v24 or 32v32, combined with a proportional increase in ticket counts to maintain balance, would perfectly bridge the gap between classic tactical gameplay and large-scale warfare.
  3. Why Breakthrough Fails to Replace RUSH
The development team seems to view Breakthrough as a replacement for RUSH, but it simply falls short. There is nothing "epic" about the current state of Breakthrough. Instead, it consistently devolves into tedious, static stalemates where teams just spam explosives at a single capture zone. Frankly, even standard All-Out Warfare feels better and more dynamic than Breakthrough right now.
  4. The Flawed Logic of Breakthrough Capture Mechanics
Breakthrough completely fails to replace RUSH unless its fundamental mechanics are reworked. In RUSH, once an M-COM is destroyed, it is gone forever—creating definitive progress and momentum. Breakthrough desperately needs a similar rule: once the attackers successfully capture a sector objective, the defenders should not be allowed to retake it. Without this change, Breakthrough will always remain a frustrating tug-of-war, whereas RUSH provides clear, satisfying goals.

RUSH represents the soul of Battlefield's infantry combat. Please listen to your veteran player base, restore RUSH to permanent Quickplay, and give it the upgrades it deserves.

Thank you.

  • Im as well against this i didint like when they removed other modes previuslly bealived to be bealived to be part of the permatent stuff but Rush? Thats core with legacy going after Rush is pretty much as bad as going after Conquest just say youre trying to rework the balance problems that were terrible in maps like Siege Of Cairo and Goulmunt Railway it still wouldent make it okey but silence is often worse

  • My prediction; this will fall on deaf ears, again. It’s the same bs they pulled with BF2042 rotating game modes in and out. And then we also requested to keep franchise staple modes like Rush always in play, to no avail.
