I really don't care about "account actions" especially on a heavily moderated discussion forum. I've already been banned on Steam discussions that I know EA and DICE devs ignore for calling out the shortcomings of the anti cheat and the soft approach to player reports.
The truth is EA/DICE gave up on their player base with BFV and continue to ignore what their fans want to see in a game that is now heavily geared to monitization vs. player enjoyment.
I purchased and refunded this game because of the waffling on what was advertised and the inconsistency of direction from EA and DICE top leadership. If the product was fun, I would still own it.
If I ruffle some moderator's feathers by advocating for more player control and input and risk a ban, great, at least I triggered a response instead of a representative ignoring the problem. You're bound to the same rules we are. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and moderators keep the cloud cover nice and thick on reporting and shaming cheaters into stopping their atrocious activity by generating a poor reputation in their behalf. Cheaters are costing EA money but protecting cheaters prevents people from getting an honest assessment of the game and they buy it without knowing there is a big problem here. Congratulations, you just disenfranchised another player.
Give power back to the players or take away their ability to talk here openly about the problem without worrying about moderation by rules that adds to the problem and not solve it. Every player sees the Name and Shame rule as some form of shielding the cheaters from repercussions.
Take away a voice and you make their words more valuable and shine the Sunlight on the willingness to silence people who care about their fellow gamers and fans.
In the end, players have the last say. Either by voice, here, or with their wallets. I chose to use both methods of communication. Interestingly, I want to come back to this game but the complaints I see around core gameplay experiences and how the players aren't getting the changes that actually matter are keeping me away. It is painfully obvious that the core mechanics that make Battlefield , BATTLFIELD and the problems aren't being addressed or at least addressed in a timely manner to which palyers give up hope and leave. I'm looking at you, Steam Player Charts. 👀
Ban me, I really don't care. It reinforces rules to protect cheaters and reinforces EA's desire to remove control from the BF community. Let us make our own servers and fix the problems for you. Then take notes.
Fix it or the voices get louder.
Edit: EA_Darko, no where did I mention anyone being better than I am nor did I hackusate a player name so I am taking the jab about skill as a general accusation on the topic. Since I don't play the game, everyone has a better K/D than I do so, whatever you say boss. Be sure you're not being vindictive to the forum participants when it's not warranted. You'll tarnish yours and the moderation team's reputation.
