Hi Max: You are correct. In real life the projectiles speed from any modern high powered rifle is fast, very, very fast. I was wanting for someone who has say with the creators to answer in what way does drastically reducing projectile speed of the sniper rifles benefit and improve game play. I contend they simply have caved in to the whiny cry babies who only know the SRSD (spawn run shoot die) COD mentality from like 20m. Thanks for the reply
Actually, the original bullet velocities of all weapons are lower than they should be. In BF3, they were even lower, and there were even a lot of memes about it back then. They could have adjusted the damage areas and multipliers on the body more consistently. They could also have reduced the close-range damage dealt by all other weapons. They listened to players who mistook bullet drop for realism.

They go through great lengths to make the weapons and vehicles and skins look as close to real as possible. But for bullet speed and damage, one of the easiest things to get right they completely miss the boat. Do you think they do that intentionally or are they simply that ignorant about the realities. Either way it certainly does not make the game play better.
