Russian Language

Hello, why is there no Russian translation in the game? Everyone knows how people circumvent restrictions. But even more than that, why should other Russian speakers suffer because of the country of the founder of the language? I think it's not difficult to allocate a couple of thousand out of 400 million for a translator of at least the text.

  • To the teams at EA, DICE, Ripple Effect, and all those working on Battlefield 6,

We, the Russian-speaking players and long-time fans of the Battlefield franchise, respectfully ask you to reconsider the decision to exclude Russian language support — not even subtitles — in the upcoming Battlefield 6.

For over 20 years, our community has been a loyal part of the Battlefield series. From Battlefield 1942 to BF2, BF3, BF4, and 2042, we’ve actively participated in betas, supported premium editions, built competitive scenes, and helped grow the global fanbase.

According to data from Steam and the EA App, Russian-speaking players consistently rank among the top 10 most active audiences across Battlefield titles. We understand that full localization is a commitment, but even basic subtitles would be a sign of respect to a community that has stood by you for two decades.

We are not asking for the impossible — we’re asking not to be excluded.

Battlefield has always stood for teamwork, unity, and a global community. Please don’t leave us behind.

    With respect,
    The Russian-speaking Battlefield community

    Russian localization is needed!#Battlefield6Russian #BF6NoRussian #DICELocalizeBF6 #EArespectyourfans #РусскийязыкBattlefield

  • I’ve been a loyal fan of the Battlefield series for over 20 years — since Battlefield 1942. Like millions of others across Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Baltics and beyond, I’ve spent thousands of hours enjoying this franchise.

One of the key reasons Battlefield felt immersive was its commitment to including global players through full localization — including the Russian language. Until now.

The news that Battlefield 6 will be released without any Russian language support — not even subtitles — is disappointing and alienating. It cuts off millions of players from engaging with the story, the interface, and the experience in a language they understand.

According to Steam statistics, Russian-speaking players are consistently among the top 5 most active gaming communities worldwide. The EA App shows similar trends. We are not a fringe market. We are a core audience that has supported Battlefield with our time, passion, and money for over two decades.

We are not asking for full voiceover. We are simply asking for basic localization: subtitles, menus, and interface in Russian — just like in all previous Battlefield games. This is about inclusion, accessibility, and respect.

Please don’t turn your back on millions of players.
Please bring back Russian language support in Battlefield 6.

📈 Key Data: Why Russian-Speaking Players Matter

    To DICE and Electronic Arts,

Our region isn't a marginal market — it's one of your core player bases with proven loyalty and scale:

Steam Dominance: Russian-speaking users comprise **9.7% of all Steam players** — the **3rd largest userbase globally**, surpassing Germany, the UK, and France .

    Battlefield-Specific Activity:

      - Even in 2025, Battlefield 2042 maintains 50,000–80,000 monthly active players across platforms, with significant engagement from CIS countries .

      - Legacy titles like Battlefield 1 still boast 12,804 daily players years after release — proof of our long-term commitment .

Historical Context: The series has thrived in our region since Battlefield 1942 (2002), with localized hits like BF4 (full russian support) becoming cult classics .

    - Community Infrastructure:

Dedicated CIS hubs like the **20,000+ member VK and Telegram, Youtube group 1BF, Децык, Sxemov, Zombierus, Segafive and active **Discord squads** organize daily matches — yet we're treated as second-class players.

Ignoring 1 in 10 Steam users isn't just disrespectful — it's commercially shortsighted. When Battlefield 4 launched with full Russian support, it became your highest-rated title in CIS; contrast this with BF2042's player collapse (-90% from peak) — partly fueled by localization neglect. We want to spend money on your games, but we refuse to pay full price for a fragmented experience.

We believe in Battlefield. We love this franchise. We want to continue being part of it, fighting alongside you on the new battlefield 6. But for that, we need the Russian language. Do not push away those who have stood with you all these years!

    Sincerely,

    The Russian-Speaking Battlefield Veterans Community.

  • if tbh, all stories in BF looks like:

BF4: bla-bla-bla, russia, usa and china as well

BF2042: Russia wanna get to *bla-bla*, we gonna stop that asap

BF6: NATO vs PMC. PMC? Where are from? Why? For what? idk. We as a «great» NATO with USA, British and Egypt (how did Egypt get there?) can't destroy no name PMC which gotcha new technology. Btw, we still don't know where and how they get all that

  • Greetings to everyone reading this post!
I'm reaching out to the Battlefield Development Team for assistance with an important matter.

I'm a big Battlefield fan since my childhood. I do understand the reasons why Russian language support was removed from Battlefield 6, but it makes me really sad as a dedicated member of this community.

That's why I want to help Russian-speaking gamers by contributing to Russian localization. I have experience in game localization. The thing is, I don't know how to get the right files for translating in-game text. Please, could you tell me how to open and repack those files after translation? I would do it myself.

I'm sure you're aware that not only Russians speak this language. And that it's the 3rd most popular language on Steam (according to Valve data). Please don't leave us.

    I eagerly await your response.
    Sincerely, your devoted Battlefield fan.

  • Subject: Request to Restore Russian Language Support in Battlefield 6

Dear developers at EA, DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion, Industrial Toys, and all studios involved in creating Battlefield 6,

I am 18 years old, and I have loved your games since childhood. When I was in school, I would come home after classes and immediately start playing Battlefield. I honestly admit — back then, I sometimes used pirated versions. I had no money, but my desire to play was huge. Now everything has changed: I have started earning money and want to support developers properly by buying the games that are especially dear to me, so I can relive the emotions from my childhood.

Games almost never come out in my native language. I have accepted this. But I learned Russian as a child when traveling with my parents. Since then, I have been used to playing, reading subtitles, and understanding the story fully in Russian.

That is why the absence of Russian localization in Battlefield 6 is especially disappointing and hurtful — not only to me but to millions of Russian-speaking players who deeply love your games. Many of us feel left out and saddened by this decision.

I understand that the world is going through a difficult political situation right now. But we are just ordinary players, and what matters to us is not conflicts but the opportunity to be part of the story you create. Localization is not about politics. It is a way to unite people worldwide and convey your vision to everyone.

On behalf of the entire Russian-speaking community, I ask you to consider adding at least subtitles and translated menus. This would help millions of players who love your series, support you, and want to enjoy Battlefield 6 as you intended.

Games should unite us, not divide us.

Thank you for all the emotions you have shared with us through your games.

    Sincerely,

    los4r

  • We need russian translation, EA. It is not only boost your community respect, but also sales. So we hope it will be added
