SBMM
So, they announced that Battlefield 6 will have SBMM. People will be matched based on ping, server location and skill factor based on gamemode you play. Atleast that is what they said, and nobody kn...
I agree, i don't like SBMM at all.
This is starting to feel more like CoD than anything else with this SBMM.
Time to go back to your roots EA, and add a server browsing capability again.
It has always been in Battlefield, but since Battlefield 2042 you just ditched it for no reason, and even after so many requests on the BF2042 forums you didn't do anything about it. Very sad and unfortunate.
Give us the freedom of choice to play whatever map we like, at any given time..
It takes really long to find a match sometimes, you may get put in a new match with the same map as the previous one, over and over again.. i see more con's than pro's with having an SBMM system in Battlefield. May work for CoD, but not here.
It's time you stay true to yourself again, and stop copying Call of Duty.
They ditched dedicated servers because they want to control the data, and there is a LOT of data being captured, its that simple. Dedicated servers will not come back because DICE doesn't want to invest in separate APIs for dedicated servers in order to sync the plethora of data that is logged, not to mention the separate infrastructure required to ingest, synchronize, store and utilize that data.
I've always said that less is more, specifically capture less data in order to focus on gameplay and other important server tuning, for example higher tic rates, wouldn't that be grand?
thats simply not true brother. They don't even need to ditch dedicated servers to control the data. They can give us servers with full capabilities, except stopping that information for example. Thats what ISP routers do nowadays that you literally have full control over. They stop you now from blocking a certain port and a certain process, that in the past you could manually block. But I lived it, I was there. in counterstrike and quake days you always had ddos attacks. But they could be mitigated for cheap. Its when they got too strong for even some ISP's that it became unfeasible man, so people just stopped hosting servers. Why pay money for a server when your isp can't stop it lagging or going offline after you ban someone... lol. Or when they start charging you more money to do so because it becomes so frequent. These 15 yr old kids destroyed a whole industry brother. Maybe they have the whole industry scared I dunno. in 2013 they took battlenet off for 3 days lol. But It was not some grand conspiracy, we call them booter kids. The FBI knows who they all are. James Comey always turned a blind eye to it, because they were mostly minors at the time. unless you argue the video game developers were behind the server attacks themselves lmao. But the truth is the video game companies don't want to be in the business of hosting tournaments that is a community run thing. They are interested in creating and developing games, the e-sports of quake and cs were simply natural side affects. But they are woke companies and so if they are running it, we have to deal with them literally destroying sports as we know it. The reason they don't show stats, the reasons we don't have a server browser, is because they think they are protecting people this way from attacks, they also think noone gets left out from playing this way. And its not a money thing for them, its literally an ideological one. and I don't blame them for thinking that, that is how infested gaming has always been. Its human nature we are dealing with. But it does more harm than good, because it is sacrificing themselves by sacrificing the general playerbase literally to defend a few bad apples to not risk the cost of a few innocent. But if they no longer exist, there is no game to begin with. We call that suicidal empathy.
