I’m absolutely not saying this to shoot down the suggestion, but wanted to point out:
- Objs have to be carefully calibrated: you need the right amount of cover, open and covered avenues of approach, etc.
- And then the flow of the game also needs to work. The space between two objs owned by opposing teams will see both teams trying to progress against one another, so you need interesting corridors to funnel the action, specific points to hold, etc.
The issue is thus that providing alternative objs requires not only adding or reworking stuff where the obj is located, but also reworking the path between a new obj and the adjoining ones. Getting this to work is far from straightforward, and while still easier than an entire new map, it’s still a lot of effort for what would probably be a minor change.
