Even the verified portal modes from dice without any changes got nerfed just because AI is in it....WTF. This was a major point for me to buy this game.
Dice again making the wrong decision with portal XP. They just need to get rid of the 1hp free kill bot servers and not the normal verified AI modes.
Today i got lucky and have hosted a Server after hours of spamming the button and i got 2 weapon level from 5 to 7 of my Assault Rifle after 3 hours of Playing just normal Conquest on all Maps with Bots. This is hot garbage.
In 2042, it was no problem to unlock attachments for weapons and vehicles with bots, why is it now a thing?
Nobody is being forced to do this. Unlocking attachments is not pay to win or increasing your skill cap.
Me and many others having zero fun playing multiplayer all the time. It is toxic, stressful and thanks to the matchmaking many times unfair. We just want to play with AI to have some fun like it was in 1942, Vietnam or Battlefield 2. I don't want to be forced in multiplayer just to grind my weapons and get a stroke or heart attack while doing it.
Not everybody is a 24/7 playing try hard with infinite time and ultra skill
Portal in Battlefield 2042 was completely unusable due to the number of exp grind/bot farm/achievement servers. It had the same global server quota hosting issue, because everyone was just starting a server for a solo experience. You couldn't even find normal games anymore.
They've invested heavily in portal, so I don't blame them for making sure it remains accessible for the people that actually want to play against others.

There was no serious quota issue in 2042 until the BF6 hype started and they got people who did not play 2042 to grind XP for the battlepass to unlock stuff for BF6.
The problem always starts with DICE and co adding slow boring grinds.
I can't speak for your experience, but it took me multiple minutes at a minimum to start a server, even before the BF6 grind. At times it also took way longer.
It never used to until it got close to time for BF6 coming out. Then I started to see a lot of the server quota issues. I assumed it was for them pulling resources from it in preparation for BF6. Was unaware of grinders. Now makes sense.
Because Coop Mode exist in 2042. No need for hosting a server. You had full weapon progression until mastery 12 and had all weapon/vehicle unlocks/attachments.
It worked on Launch and worked in the road to BF6 Portal AFK XP Farm time. Nobody cared about that and now pple are complaining that this is unfair or what?
Nobody is forcing these people to do it exactly the same way. But they want to force people to do it the way they do.
This is just stupid and toxic behavior.
If they make sure portal works and is useable, I really don't care what players do in their own time.
