Seems like they're merging all the posts complaining about the XP change into this one, so they absolutely know people don't want this XP change.
So they completely changed how XP works in the 'Verified Modes' for Portal too?
This feels like 2042 all over again. They promised Full XP. Then they backtracked.
The solution is so incredibly simple, if the server is running the Official Rules, then it should give FULL XP for everything, INCLUDING FROM BOTS.

"Battlefield is a 64 player game, YOU CAN'T FILL EVERY SERVER in Portal with that many players unless Bot Backfill is turned on, it's JUST NOT FEASIBLE."
Accommodations such as bot kills being separated from player kills should've been done well before launch. Official Templates that allow bot backfill with FULL XP in Portal should've been approved and made available in Portal, this is what 'Verified Modes' should have made available. Why this was not done, IS THE MAIN ISSUE AT HAND.
Then there's the server capacity issue, It's a fact that not every player would request to 'host' their own Portal server, I would argue roughly 35% of the player base would request to do so. And that's ignoring that the servers are not truly persistent and turn off when no one is on the server. EA had the numbers on this based on 2042, so they knew ahead of time how much server capacity they would need based on player behavior in 2042 and the correlation between this and how many people pre-purchased BF6, but failed to have enough server capacity regardless. It's not like people were able to host more than one server, and they run at half the tick rate which official servers run at. In my opinion, all servers deviating from Official Rules and that are not actually Custom Servers should've been shut down instead of taking these drastic measures.
You should remember, Portal without bot backfill and FULL XP is effectively killed off and put on life support anywhere outside the US and EU. This is one of the main reasons why it's so concerning that bot backfill with FULL XP was completely disabled in Portal's 'Verified Modes'. Not only is this antithetic to Portal's FULL XP marketing but players with exceedingly high ping will be forced onto US and EU servers where the experience can be ruined for both players with low ping and high ping, where instances of hit registration issues and people dying around corners will sky rocket, and all because bot backfill with FULL XP was disabled.
Battlefield 6 has no region select for matchmaking, the only way to play the game for some, is through Portal. But now with no Bot Backfill and FULL XP, there isn't just no point in playing, it's literally impossible unless you want to deal with high ping, which until a few days ago, was a non-issue.
Just to quote someone else's complete misunderstanding on what bot backfill is supposed to be for:
Yes, bots are cool if you just want to fill a map - but in my opinion, it’s delusional to think you should earn XP toward weapons, classes, or anything else the same way you would in an online match. - It wasn’t designed to be played that way.
Battlefield is a 64 player game, YOU CAN'T FILL EVERY SERVER in Portal with that many players unless Bot Backfill is turned on, it's JUST NOT FEASIBLE. And even then, bot backfill only fills to 24 instead of 32 per team. Bot fill to full capacity is supposed to make the game playable in regions where the game can't have 64 players at all times. You can't support the above quoted opinion when you're aware that tens of thousands of players if not more literally rely on bot backfill for the game to be playable, and removing FULL XP WITH bot backfill takes away a massive chunk of the game from these players and regions and makes the game inaccessible. Which in turn breaks the promise of Portal and just bots in general having FULL XP.
The game was playable, it was working, it was acceptable. Now it's just unplayable in some regions and an accessibility issue has been created. And all that, without even touching on people who just wanted to use Portal for a low-stress first person shooter PvE experience. These players would never bother with official matchmaking regardless of anything said, and that's perfectly okay because it's the experience they wanted out of BF6's Portal.
My proposal is this, instead punishing tens of thousands of players for what should've been an anticipated problem, any Portal experience that has the words or remotely hints at "Farming", "AFKing" or "Ammo crate" should automatically be flagged and shutdown. If people are getting flagged in All Chat for swearing, USE THE SAME SYSTEM TO FLAG ABUSIVE SERVERS. Why this isn't a thing after 2042 is honestly kinda baffling.

👍 Agree. The question is though can Simple people see the Simple Solution ? 🧐
