Maybe play online multiplayer to progress your online career?
They never promised full xp vs full bot servers, the intention was to allow users to create pvp experiences and have bots act as a backfill.
They should add a solo/coop mode with everything unlocked so you can chill playing bots, then they should removed bots from portal and normal matchmaking games.
Only reason they added bots in 2042 was because of the player count increase, its a relic that should not have carried over to this game.
Bots exist since bf2. Back then, they were no progression against bots and no unlocks. And that was fine because never they advertised something else. In video games culture, bots and full modding support has always been a guarantee to ensure longevity for a game, BF is no exception. So here, an important part of the player base is here for portal and PVE experiences because IT HAS BEEN ADVERTISED SO "custom experiences with full progression". And today you can not even start a single server, because of capacity issues. We can find any by-pass or solution to alter that but in the end, if it's not full progression on Portal, that was a lie. Simple as that, and there is nothing new because 2042 portal was the same mess.

I know bots existed in bf2, I played against them alot because my Internet was terrible and my pc wasn't great.
Bots here should also give 0 xp and 0 stats.
When EA said about custom experiences with full progression they were naive and I'm sure didn't expect it to be used how it is, like I said bots were added to backfill, not to create full matches with them in order to surcamnavigate online progression.
As I said they should add solo/coop mode with everything unlocked so you can chill and play against bots and you are not missing out on unlocks.
Infact to go further, they should allow the portal tools to be used to create an offline version of the experience so you can create any experience you want without it taking up space on portal.
