You've just completely screwed over a large portion of the player base just now by turning off weapon and attachment XP in portal servers.
I don't have time to play this game all day every day. I will never be able to be on par with other players without being able to unlock attachments and weapons faster. It takes incredibly long in a normal match for casual folks like me to unlock stuff.
I am a legitimate player who plays breakthrough and conquest matches against bots. I am too old and this game is sometimes too fast for me. I just want to relax after work and kill some bots with my friends, or by myself.
Now, i can't. I'm out until this is changed. This was the last straw for me. EA just completely screwed a lot of us over.
I don't want to offend anyone, I'll just ask because I'm curious.What's the point of playing XP farms? Just to unlock weapon attachments? I repeat, it is a question without offending anyone. If this is the answer, I guess it would be best if the XP on farm servers were only exclusive to weapons and not to the soldier level.
A lot of people don't get that there are 2 types of Portal maps... ya got the normal PVE maps you create through the Portal website and are NOT by any means a farming situation.
Then ya have the SDK tools that allow you to make a farming map and have bots with no weapons or make bots that are stuck at their spawn. They should have only done this nerf to the SDK side of things.
And yes, most of this is about unlocking weapons, attachments and even a lot of these crazy challenges etc. For someone like myself who gets on average less than 10 kills per round... it would take me a month or more to level up a single weapon (x45 current weapons in the game). Progression in the game is entirely to slow and a snails pace for players like myself.
Bot farms should have no soldier xp or at most very little, but weapon and challenge progression would have made it so its a win - win for everyone, bot players happy and those who want to play official can't whinge about people having a higher lvl.
