You do realize that player count for pretty much every multiplayer naturally goes down after launch? The steam charts are showing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

It is. Directly after removing all XP from Portal there is a 25% drop. This is not happening randomly. But nice try for an argument.

You can check the steam charts, there is a gradual decline. Without anything that specifically stands out. You are misreading the statistics. What you're probably noticing is weekend versus workday concurrent users.
