I don't see ANY issue with people wanting to start a normal bot server through the Portal website and play solo and get Full Progression. I'm even fine with them wanting to make it so that KD with bots doesn't carry over to MP. I could care less about my KD. I know I'm older and slower. But no weapon XP or even a trickle at like 1/8th doesn't flush.
Progression sucks in this game and takes forever. And no... I don't expect to unlock everything within hours, but it also shouldn't take me days on end to fully level a weapon either. But then I'm not one of these people that feel the need to have challenges etc to even play the game. I come from the days of BF2 and CoD4... we didn't have no silly challenges or pathetically long grind to level weapons, yet still played daily and played for 1000's of hours.
The problem with the XP Farms is the SDK side of Portal where people were making single spawn areas for players to come in and they'd already be surrounding that location. Other servers had it so their health was like 2000 and couldn't kill them and then others were where bots either had no weapons or couldn't move. All of THAT I can understand there being an issue.
EA/DICE's post this morning was extraordinary when one considers this:
« ... as well as if Al bots should be present in vour Community Experience. Assign them across teams or put them all on one team against human-controlled players. »
So it was fine before? As a pre-sale commitment?...
And now no longer?... To satisfy the ire of sweat-hards?
