I have/had the same experience in 2042 and the beta where I get the drop on an enemy and land 5, 6, 7, sometimes 8 hit markers just to have the guy turn around and insta-kill me. This is why a server browser needs to be added. When I could choose the server with the best ping in previous BF titles I rarely had this issue. People saying portal will take the place of a true server browser are right and wrong. I'm sure portal will be great for launch and months after that, but when portal servers fail to populate over time they'll disappear and we'll be left with XP farm servers like 2042's portal has become.
