Troubled Experience with the state of the game.
Hi there,
I wanted to make this post because while it is feedback, it is also not limited to just one individual issue and my grievances encompass both poor experience and troubled bugs.
Hitboxes and Hitpoints
To begin, I'll start by bringing up my biggest grievance which is hitboxes and hitpoints.
Time and again I am engaging in a firefight with an enemy and I am firing at their head and it seems like it counts for no more damage than if I were firing at their torso or other extremities.
To give an example, I could be engaged in an encounter where my opponent is 2 meters or less from me has their torso completely covered by world objects such as sheet metal or a wooden desk and I am firing directly at their head and yet somehow I die. You could make the argument that maybe my gun has bullet spread or whatever but the truth is that this has happened on guns that have pretty tight firing patterns AND I generally tend to burst fire my guns for better control. Damage REALLY shouldn't be too much of a factor here because I am shooting my opponent in the head.
It genuinely seems like headshots only count for anything if I am using a sniper rifle or a marksman rifle. Anything else, and headshots count for nothing and take the same damage that a torso shot would. This is completely unacceptable. Someone at DICE please explain to me wtf is wrong.
In-game Audio (Footsteps and Engine Sounds)
I don't know what is wrong with the ingame audio but it has been screwed from day #1.
Vehicles and solider footsteps make almost no sound unless their are within 1 meter of me. This shouldn't be the case! And I am not the only one. My squadmates all experience the same issues. By the time we hear anything, the enemy is already basically standing on top of us.
However, if the vehicle (lets say a tank) is firing its weapon - yes we will hear it fine. But engine sounds and footsteps any further than 1 meter is just inaudible 90% of the time.
We've tried all the various audio tracks to try and get a better experience but its completely stuffed. Why are we now three seasons in and this is STILL not fixed?
Uncap Camping
The use of uncap is being abused to OBLIVION. People are sitting tanks and firing from the objective and racking up kills.
It's not conducive to teamwork and its unfair to the opposition who then has limited to almost no opportunity to retaliate back.
If players are going to sit in uncap, they should be penalised by being prohibited from firing or using weapons from the uncap. There is absolutely ZERO reason for you to use any kind of weapon from an uncap. They should also have 3-5 second restriction on using weapons AFTER leaving uncap to discourage people from entering uncap and then jumping out to fire then re-entering again.
Map Twitchy Glitch
As of this patch, there is a new bug where the spawn map completely glitches out any time you try to choose a capture point to spawn on. It matters not if you zoom in or out or shake the map in any way, it continues to remain glitchy and is a right PITA.
While it is new, I have yet to see any acknowledgement that this is a known issue let alone that it is one being worked on - and the sad part is we are now several days into the release of that patch and it is still not fixed.
How could such a consistently repeatable bug get past any kind of quality and player testing prior to the launch of the patch? All of my squad are experiencing the same issue and I am seeing it talked about repeatedly across different match sessions - so its not something that is rare.
HOW DICE?! HOWWWW? How did it get past any kind of testing? More importantly - why are we several days in an no fix at all? Cmon...
I appreciate the time and work that the developers put into the game, but honestly, rather than releasing new maps and new skin packs - can we please put some priority on fixing bugs that have existed WELL beyond the current season.
Look, I know you will do your PR response and say "Thank you for feedback. We have teams working to resolve issues and certainly take seriously and put a priority on fixing bugs." and while whether this is true is up for debate - it is certainly not coming through when old bugs are still unresolved let alone small bugs that should be a simple fix are taking several days to fix.
