Really, this is something you'll need to continue discussing with EA Help. It'd be up to them if they'd be able to issue a refund under their policy ultimately. While I don't want to be a pessimist, they may decline the request as the coins were technically used voluntarily, but I honestly hope that you get a positive outcome.
Also, just so you're aware, Dice are yet to resolve the issue where people (myself included) completed all of the weekly challenges before the error with the 85 points for the bonus mission was corrected.
