Updates Sept - Gunplay feel
I'll keep this simple: the movement and gunplay currently feel extremely floaty, and the visual/gameplay sync is the worst I've experienced since I started playing BF6.
Client input feels heavily delayed, almost as if it's being cached and then relayed back to the player. The experience is reminiscent of playing on servers across the pond back in the day on a single-channel ISDN connection with 200ms+ latency. The strange thing is that the in-game ping indicator shows my connection sitting around 27ms, with occasional fluctuations up to roughly 41ms.
Something clearly isn't lining up between the latency being reported and what I'm actually experiencing in-game. My gut feeling is that the issue may be server-side — potentially overloaded game instances or server performance struggling under load — but whatever the cause, the end result is the same: movement feels floaty, hit registration feels inconsistent, unsatifying and unrewarding. What I'm seeing on screen doesn't fails to match the true event that should have played out.
This has become a regular occurrence most nights lately, rather than an occasional bad match. For a AAA title from a publisher some might say once had an S Tier reputation, it's genuinely disappointing to see the game performing like this.
I really hope the team is looking closely at server performance, tick rate, client/server reconciliation and network synchronisation, because something feels seriously off at the moment.
