Weapon attachment costs for items that we cant change?!

Oh my... I don't want to get started on this to much, but seriously guys, if you want to charge us for a ammo clip, then there better be OTHER options, charging us for a part of the gun we cant change is just wrong, like seriously.
DB-12: 5 points for a ammo clip we cant change??
SV-98: 5 points for a ammo clip we cant change??
M44: 5 points for a ammo clip we cant change??
M357: 10 points for a barrel we cant change?
VZ.61: 10 points for a barrel we cant change?

I think you get my point... Why charge for what is apparently a basic piece of the gun that's not changeable? It feels like we are being messed with and we have no recourse, taking away our abilities to really do up the weapons as we want. I get 5 and 10 points aren't a lot, but that's only part of the issue, its player agency you are taking away for no reason, either give us an option (faster ammo clips, different barrels) or remove the costs, I think its only fair.. Its like saying Hey, that Grip costs 5 points, but oh well without it you don't have a working weapon and its not like we can even say Oh I don't want that part..

Come on Devs, do better please.

It looks annoying but it's just a balance thing when you want all guns to get 100 points (or 60 for handguns). Basically you could make the magazine of the SV98 free, but then that gun only has 95 points to distribute.

It's the same when it comes to the minimum cost of a lot of attachments: you can make them all free instead, but then different guns would have different available points.

  • The funniest part is that attachments change almost nothing on 90% of weapons, and on the few where a specific attachment does help it's either 5 points or 55.

Whoever is handling the balance of attachments is doing an incredibly sad job of it.

Attachments should operate in 5 point increments.  Right now, many tiers are just skipping amounts, so we'll go from 10, to 20, to 35.  Why?  This just makes it a giant pain to try and min max.

The good solution is to require tradeoffs for each change.  Things that make the weapon more agile should increase recoil.  Things that reduce recoil reduce the agility.  More ammo makes you run slower.  Less ammo you go zoom.  SO many ways to balance this in an interesting way and we get points that rarely add up to 100.

Actually many attachments do that. For example, if you check the advanced stats, less ammo improves your movement in ADS multiplier, and vice versa. It’s can be quite impactful, for example on the BROD, taking a 20 mag with lightweight ammo gets you a x1 multiplier (so you move as fast in ADS as without).

What bothers me more is that the points seem calculated to ignore the trade offs. Bigger mags will make you slower, will have longer reload times, some are even more negatively impactful (especially on LMGs), but they still cost more, often prohibitively so. Why would I spent 55 points on a box mag when it already makes my gun much worst just by itself AND I have to remove other stuff on top of that?
