Why even have bots?

It’s beyond frustrating to have no way to play hardcore and progress anymore. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to not want to dump a quarter of a magazine into an enemy to get a kill, or have the mini map as a crutch. This whole thing could be solved by just removing bots altogether. I don’t even understand why they exist in the first place, let alone why you can gain as much xp as a live player for killing a bot. I just want to play hardcore battlefield again. I can’t believe it’s getting ruined by people who just want the stuff without putting the time in.
