Weapon Loadout Unlock Progression Is Too Punishing

The current weapon loadout unlock system is overly restrictive and creates a frustrating progression loop. Unlocking all loadouts for a single weapon requires approximately 1,500 kills, which is an extremely high requirement—especially when many of the most useful attachments are locked behind those same loadouts.

This creates a catch-22 situation: players need better loadouts to perform effectively, but must already perform exceptionally well without those loadouts to unlock them. For average or new players, this significantly slows progression and makes weapon experimentation unrewarding.

Additionally, loadouts must be unlocked individually for every weapon, even when they contain identical or functionally similar attachments. This results in excessive repetition and grind, discouraging players from switching weapons or trying different playstyles. Instead of meaningful progression, it feels like artificial padding.

Suggestions for improvement:
  • Reduce the total kill requirement needed to unlock full weapon loadouts.
  • Allow shared or partially shared loadout unlocks across weapons of the same class.
  • Unlock core or baseline attachments earlier, so weapons feel viable before the long grind begins.
  • Shift progression toward usage-based milestones (accuracy, objectives, assists), not just raw kill counts.

A more flexible and player-friendly system would encourage experimentation, reduce frustration, and improve long-term engagement without removing the sense of progression.
