Game freezes after latest update – unplayable

Since the latest update, my game in Battlefield 6 keeps freezing randomly for a few seconds.At first I thought it was related to the new map or some kind of specific bug, but I’ve now tested multiple maps and the issue still happens everywhere.

I already made sure:

I have the latest drivers installed

All overlays are disabled

No overclocking is enabled

My system is more than capable of running the game:

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE (16 GB VRAM)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8-Core)

RAM: 32 GB

I have a few hundred hours in the game and never had any problems before this update.

What happens exactly: The game freezes for a few seconds, then continues. During the freeze, I can still alt-tab and use everything normally (second monitor, desktop, etc.), so it’s not a full system freeze, only the game.

The problem is that when it unfreezes, I’m often already dead or missed important moments. This makes the game really frustrating to play.

This really shouldn’t be happening, especially on a system like this.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any known fixes?
